04-10-2008: Consumer Law Group and its co-counsel, New Haven Attorney Joanne Faulkner, have negotiated a settlement agreement with Midland Credit Management ("Midland") on behalf of a class of Connecticut residents who were sued by Midland to collect debts. The lawsuit alleged, and Midland has acknowledge that, contrary to the allegations of the lawsuit, Midland was not the owner of the debts. Under the settlement, MIdland has agreed to pay each of the class members $100,000. Of the $100,000, a minimum of $25,000 has been earmarked to reimburse class members against whom Midland obtained judgments and who have paid money to Midland. Additionally, each class member who submits a claim will receive a pro-rata share of $75,000, with each class member receiving up to $1,000. It will be necessary for the court to approve the settlement agreement, and the parties are seeking that approval..

04-01-2008: The Board of Directors of Statewide Legal Services of Connecticut has elected Daniel S. Blinn as its president. Statewide Legal Services is a not-for-profit legal aid agency that provides guidance and legal assistance to low-income Connecticut residents. Blinn is also the immediate past president of the Greater Hartford Legal Aid Foundation, which raises money to fund legal aid for low income residents of Hartford County.

03-18-2008: Class Action status given to suit against Bally Total Fitness Clubs in Pennsylvania. Daniel S. Blinn of Consumer Law Group is one of the attorneys representing the class. See article

3-10-2008: Class Action status given to suit against Monumental Life Insurance for failure to refund credit life and disability insurance policies after loans were paid off. See article.
