Credit Card Disputes

Consumer Law Group can assist you in disputing items on your credit card accounts.

Generally, if you dispute something on your credit card statement, then you need to notify the bank that issued the credit card in writing within 60 days of the first time that the item appears on your statement.  The bank will then perform an investigation of your dispute.  During the time that the dispute is being investigated, the bank is not permitted to charge you any interest or late fees if you do not pay the disputed amount, and it is not allowed to consider this non-payment for purposes of reporting you as deliquent on your
credit report.
